I have several branches of my family tree that must be in this territory in the 1880 timeframe. They are simply nowhere else in the US census and either showed up before or after in Oklahoma or nearby Arkansas federal censuses. There are two specific connections that I'm looking for.
Benjamin G Harrison, a physician born in England in 1815, married to Nancy, with a mixed family of hers and theirs in 1880. Benjamin and Nancy later ended up in Hackett, Arkansas, and are buried there. Their son Charles C. is my great-grandfather and was living in Poteau in 1900.
Angeline McFarland, born 1863 in Alabama, living in Nacogdoches, Texas in 1870, with father John and mother Margaret and siblings Jeremiah, Mary, Robert and Ery. She married Theodore Jones (I believe) in 1882 in Hackett, Arkansas. I believe the McFarland family was on the move based on birth locations; Ery, an infant, was the only one who'd been born in Texas in 1870. None of them appear in the 1880 federal census and I've looked long and hard.
Thanks in advance for any information you may have.
