The information contained in the Oklahoma State database has been extracted from cemetery records, Social Security Death Index, obituaries, NWOGS "Key Finder," newspapers, "Woodward County Pioneer Families Before 1915", "Woodward County Pioneer Families 1915-1957", "Our Ellis County Heritage 1885-1974" Vol. I, "Our Ellis County Heritage 1885-1974" Vol II, & other sources available at Woodward Library, contributions by researchers, and my own family research.
Every effort has been made to transcribe this information accurately. These records MAY CONTAIN ERRORS. Any corrections and/or additions greatly appreciated. As with any genealogy information, this is a source and should be considered as such. It is up to the researcher to verify the accuracy.
Based on resources listed above, some families are connected together. If known, females are listed under their maiden names. Otherwise, they are listed under married names.
All persons listed have Oklahoma connections. The person themselves and/or a spouse, parent, sibling, other family member was born, lived, married, died, and/or was buried in the state. Some folks came for awhile, then moved on or returned to their previous home. Others have had family members here or in surrounding counties for over 100 years.
Duplicate individuals may or may not be the same person. Some may not be linked to their other family members. This is due to the fact that I do not have sufficient information to merge them or connect them with their family.
I may be able to provide further information on individuals or families. I will do lookups in the available resources at the Woodward Library as time permits. If requesting a lookup, provide as much information as possible.
