He was part Choctaw, mother is said to have been Martha (James) Davis, she was Choctaw also. George W. married Mary Ann (maiden was Seago) Betts, April 11, 1875 in Choctaw Nation, San Bois County, I.T. He apparently died Abt. 1891. Their children were 1. Alfred Washington Davis b. August 27, 1878 in Choctaw Nation, Blue County, I.T. m. Maggie Hinton February 8, 1899 in Caddo, Choctaw Nation, I.T. d. July 1, 1975 in Pauls Valley, Garvin Co; OK. He and Maggie are buried at Antioch Cemetery, Antioch, Garvin Co; OK. 2. Amanda M. Davis b. January 8, 1880 in same location, m. William Riley "Ted" Damron August 26, 1897 in Bonham, Fannin Co; TX. d. November 28, 1948 in Durant, Bryan Co; OK. She and husband are buried at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bryan Co; OK. 3. Charles Levi Davis b. June 20, 1883 in same location as siblings. Charles never married, d. January 5, 1911 in Caddo, Bryan Co; OK. He is buried at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bryan Co; OK. I am seeking the names of George W. Davis's parents, and trying to find out if he had any siblings. Any help would be truly appreciated. THANKS !!!

BETTS...Seeking info on David C. BETTS who married a Choctaw woman named Nancy in Kiamitia (Choctaw) County about 1842. They had one child, Ramsey Douglas BETTS, born in 1844. Don't know what happened to Nancy. David remarried to another Choctaw woman named Betsey and moved to Blue (Bryan) County and lived near Bokchito. David eventually divorced Betsey and married Mary Ann Seago in Blue Co. They, too, divorced and David left the area about 1875. Any info on these folks appreciated.

QUERY: My mother Mary Miller, was born in 1929 in Boswell, her mother Stella Moore, was born 1910 in Bennington. We cant find birth certificates for either. Stella Moore died in Durant in 1934. Stella`s parents were Frank Moore & Belle Melton. She married Erskine Miller in Bryan Co. We know nothing of the Moore or the Melton families, other than Stella`s death certificate listed her race as "mixed" The Millers think she was Cherokee , but I havent found any proof of this on Dawes rolls. I was thinking perhaps, they were Choctaw ,since they lived in BryanCo. Any suggestions ?? Only Brick walls up to now ! H. Clyde Disney

My Grandmother owned a home in Bennington and lived there a number of years. Ahleta Iradell Atteberry 1915 in IA. moved to Caddo had William Louvere 9-21-1917, Averjill Thomas aka Thomas Virgil 1-2-1920, Charles Richard b. 11-22-1922 in Muscogee and Carl Bernardb. abt 1926-7 in Caddo or Aylesworth, Ahleta died in 1927 in Aylesworth and was taken care of by a Lena Swillings and her husband. Any info on my Grandparents father and uncles would be greatly appreciated, This is about all I know about them. Wm Jr. died in Winchester, IL 8-28- 1933.

QUERY: I am searching for any information on my fraternal gr-grandmother, elizabeth Alice Miller Jolliff.I cannot find records of her date of death or burial, but an aunt told me that shw was living with her daughter,Mary Jolliff Bohannan,in or near Achille, Ok. at the time of her death, sometime around 1912. Her son-in-law,my grandfather was William Marion Bohannan He died about 1918.
