QUERY: Searching for information on William Musgrove b.mid 1800's. He was most
likely full blooded Indian or at least 3/4. In app. 1880-1890 he married
Willie Dewitt Geiger (postmistress of Danville Ark). She had a daughter
Myrtle Geiger from her first husband Noah Geiger who was now deceased.
Willie and William Musgrove had one daughter Bertie Musgrove( born app
1891 d.1955) Bertie is my maternal grandmother. My mother has very
striking indian features and has been questioned all her life as to what
she is? She traveled from Lousiana to Arkansas quite often growing up,
but never heard much about William Musgrove except that he was Indian and
thought enough of his step-daughter Myrtle to put her through Secretarial
school in Little Rock. Willie Musgrove is buried beside Noah in an old
cemetary outside of Danville. I searched for William Musgrove's grave to
no avail. I would appreciate any infor with birth or death dates on
William Musgrove. It will be a start to begin looking for where he was
from in Oklahoma. Thanks, C.Wilson
As a note: My mother,Mary Belle Dill, thought her mother's maiden name
was Musgrave from the poor handwriting on a marriage license of Bertie's(
at a young age). It was two years ago that we viewed Willie Dewitt
Geiger Musgrove's tombstone which proved different.
