First Baptist Cornerstone Laid

Corner Stone of New Baptist Chuch [sic] Will Be Laid Next Sunday

    Everybody is invited!
    And the hope has been expressed that it will be "the last corner stone ever laid in Hugo – for the First Baptist Church.
    At the close of the program given at the First Baptist Church, Sunday night, the pastor, the Rev. R.C. Miller, said the corner stone for the new Baptist Church would be laid, at 3 o’clock Sunday afternoon.
    "I hope it will be the last corner stone ever laid in Hugo, for the First Baptist Church," the speaker said, in inviting "everybody" to attend the ceremony.
    The First Baptist Church’s new edifice is nearing completion. It will represent an expenditure of around $130,000 when completed. The pastor, Sunday night, in "packing" the audience, said when the new edifice is completed everyone can have an "end seat." he said every seat in the deifice [sic] will "have an end."
