by Ron Henson
Next Tuesday and Wednesday, June 20 and 21, the Choctaw Indians will hold a council at the Old Goodland boarding school near the city. Governor Locke will preside at the meeting, and every Indian in the Choctaw nation is invited to be present. The meeting will be held with the intention of renewing friendship and getting expressions from them, especially the full bloods concerning tribal affairs - the final disposition of tribal affairs. While in session they will be cared for at the school dormitory and Superintendent Bacon will be in charge of the entertainment and Governor Lock and Secretary S.B. Spring will look to the business of the meeting.
