BARNEY FLICK KILLED SUNDAY
Jewell King Is Held In County Jail Pending An Investigation

One man is dead and another is being held in the county jail due to a shooting affray which occurred at Fort Towson Sunday afternoon.
According to County Attorney Ralph Jenner, Jewel King, is alleged to have shot and killed Barney Flick of the Bonham Community as he sat on a street curb Sunday afternoon.
The report stated that King walked up to Flick, who was seated on the curb talking to a small boy, and cried "Your time has come," and immediately fired three shot [sic] at the victim.
Two of these bullets took effect and Flick died immediately.
Motive for the shooting, according to reports from the county officials, was that the trouble came up over King alledging [sic] that his wife had been intimate with Flick. However, County Attorney Jenner stated that Mrs. King denied that she had been anything but a friend to the deceased, and that her husband had brought him to dinner prior to the shooting.
No funeral arrangements had been announced at noon today.
BUSTER MAXWELL HELD IN CO. JAIL
Alleged To Have Killed Father Near Unger Tuesday

Ernest "Buster" Maxwell, is being held in the county jail today while officers are investigating the death of his father Henry Maxwell, 50, who was shot and killed early yesterday evening.
Young Maxwell, son of the deceased, surrendered to deputy sheriff Bacon, and admitted the shooting. He was later brought to the county jail.
The slaying is said to have occured [sic] about 3 1/2 miles south of Charlie Burton's store at Unger, where the older Maxwell, had been working on the highway during the day.
The shooting was alleged to have resulted from a family quarrel.
According to eye witnesses at the scene of the shooting, Young Maxwell went to the wagon belonging to his father, searched it for a gun, then fount it in a clump of bushes. He then sat down a short distance from it, waited until his father came for it, then fired one charge from a shotgun. The bullets struck his father in the head, chest and abdomen.
Death resulted about 30 minutes later.
No funeral arrangements had been made today. County officials this afternoon had not filed any charges against the man being held in jail.
BOSWELL NEGRO BEATEN TO DEATH
No Trace of Slayer of Dave McClure Found Dead Friday

Dave McClure, aged negro of the South Boswell community was found beaten to death early this week, according to county officials Friday.
McClure, aged about 75 or 80 years, lived by himself near Oberlin Lake in the South Boswell community and due to this fact his death was not learned for several days, it was stated.
The negro was found dead by a friend who called on him Tuesday evening.
The negro had been beaten over the head with a club which lay near by. Also close to the body was a double bitted ax. Whether this was used in the slaying of the negro was not announced.
No trace of the slayer had been found Friday afternoon.
It is believed that robbery was the motive for the crime county officials stated.
