Webb murders
The Hugo Husonian December 1912
Webb case still remains unsolved
George Webb has been released and no one now held for crime
Tragedy of October twenty-seventh north of Boswell brings no promise of solution
With all of the men arrested for complicity in the murder of Mrs. George Webb and her two children free, it still appears that the tragedy north of Boswell, October 27 is far from unraveled.
George Webb, husband and father, has been twice arrested but at no time were the county officials able to get any evidence that would justify holding him in custody. The fourteen year old Webb boy, who was with his father at Boswell the day before of the shooting was also held in custody for a time and put through a close question process.
George Webb was freed a week ago, with no further assurance on his part than that he would keep the county officials apprised of his whereabouts and that at no time would he require more than a telegram to bring him to Choctaw county to prosecute whomsoever the county believed was guilty of the crime.
Very little additional information can be obtained. The officials have looked up a man with whom it is alleged Mrs. Webb had at one time been infatuated, but the fact that he has not been in this section of the country for so many months makes the clue one of little importance.
The Webb case has been the most baffling that Choctaw county officials has had to contend against in the history of this municipality and gives promise of adding to the many unsolved mysteries of Southeastern Oklahoma.
