this applet has been tested and is known to work with the following browsers:
IE 6, Netscape 7, Opera 6 and Mozilla 1.4

You may have to grant the applet additional permissions
Please grant the permission when the pop up window appears

security note: the first time you run this applet you may receive a security warning, this is because the java applet and the IRC chat
room are on different servers. This is a "feature" of java and it is safe to accept the security certificate. Some anti-virus programs
(particularly McAfee) may indicate a "false-positive" when this applet is run. PJIRC will always ask for a filename via a GUI file
selector before saving any file on the local computer. There is no scripting mechanism in PJIRC and a remote client has no way to
execute local commands. If these security issues still concern you, we suggest you download a full feature IRC client such as mIRC.
You will need to configure it to connect to the rootsweb IRC server at irc.rootsweb.com and then join us in room #okgenweb

once the applet loads
and you are in the chat room
you will need to change your nickname
from OKguest to one of your choosing
at the lower right of the applet window
will be a box labeled, "Change nick to"
type your new nickname in the box

applet will load below

PJIRC Help files

There are two different ways of accessing the OKGenWeb Chat channel:
(1) You can use this PJIRC Java client on your Web browser.
It is free and connecting is simple and easy but any Java client is limited
and may not work on older browsers
(2) You can use a dedicated IRC client such as mIRC.
This will give you more control and flexibility, but you'll have to download and install the program
