Choctaw County Farm Bureau

Farm Bureau Is Formed in County
The Husonian Democrat November 11, 1948 – transcribed by Ron Henson

It is definitely established that there will be a Choctaw county branch of the Farm Bureau since 130 members signed and were formally accepted at a meeting held at the court house last night with Ray Grant, acting county chairman, presiding.
In order to have a Farm Bureau in this county, it was necessary to have at least one-hundred beginning members.
At the same meeting, Lex Eddleman and Efford Stallings, Atlas, were selected as delegates to the state meetings in Oklahoma City which will begin on November 9 and end on November 11.
Plans have also been made to have an organization meeting of the county Farm Bureau two weeks from today, at which time permanent officers will be elected. At present Ray Grant is acting chairman and Jack Norris is acting secretary.
At the organization meeting, a representative of the state bureau will be present to aid in conducting the proper type of establishment meeting.
