A.H. BYRNS DIED WEDNESDAY P.M.
Funeral Services Held For Pioneer Citizen This Afternoon

    A.H. Byrns, pioneer resident of Hugo died at his home 801 East Brown street, about 5 o'clock Wednesday afternoon after an illness of more than a year.
    Mr. Byrns was born in St. Louis County Missouri on August 6, 1866. From there he moved to Texas and settled near Enloe in 1876. He came to Hugo with his family in 1912 and has been a resident of this city since that time.
    On July 10, 1885, he married Miss Katie Kerbow and to this union seven children were born.
    He is survived by his wife, three daughters and one son. The daughters are, Mrs. Paul Lamb, Lake Creek, Texas; Mrs. W.L. Gilliam, Greenville, Texas; Mrs. A.W. Mainard, Cooper, Texas; and the son is Clyde Byrns, of Los Angeles, California. He is also survived by 16 grand children and two great grand children.
    Mr. Byrns was a devout member of the Baptist church.
    In 1929 Mr. Byrns was elected street commissioner of Hugo, which position he filled successfully for four years.
    Funeral services were conducted from the residence at 3 o'clock Thursday afternoon following interment in Mount Olivet.
    Funeral services were conducted by J.B. Ward, pastor of the Clayton Avenue Baptist church, with the Snow Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
    Pall bearers were R.L. Childers, C.L. Walton, L.M. Moore, Guy Burrous, W.E. Capps and Bob Jones.
