Pearl Marie Crye Butler

Funeral services for Pearl Marie Crye Butler of Soper were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2005, at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo. Interment was at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo.
Mrs. Butler died Wednesday, March 23, 2005, in Antlers. She was 90.
Pearl Marie Crye Butler of Soper was born on December 17, 1914 in Mena, Arkansas to Lidge and Mary (Dungan) Nichols. She married Lt. Col. Howard C. Crye, who was killed in World War II. She then worked for Choctaw County Judge Ellis for nine years. In 1953 she married County Commissioner, Nuble Butler, who preceded her in death in March of 1982. She had lived in this area for the past 70 years after moving here from Bethel. She was a resident of Hugo until 1953, and lived in Soper until 2004 when she then became a resident of the Golden Age Home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Soper, and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Lt. Col. Howard C. Crye, and her husband Nuble Butler. She is survived by her daughter, Marbie Marie Long of Paris, Texas; her son Tommy Butler and his wife Jeannie of Hugo; and two grandchildren, Melissa Hilburn and Dusty Butler.
