    Funeral services for Gertrude Fierson of Hugo are pending with Rogan Funeral Home. Mrs. Fierson died May 12, 2005, in Oklahoma City.

    Joan Kuykendall RayJoan Kuykendall Ray, 78, of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at home.

    She was born October 1, 1926 in Idabel, Oklahoma, daughter of Bill Kuykendall and Edith Randolph Kuykendall. Mrs. Ray was reared and received her early education in Idabel, graduating from Idabel High School. She attended Texas A&M University.

    Joan Kuykendall married Joe Spencer Ray on December 20, 1947 in Idabel, Oklahoma.

    She was a medical secretary for Davis Hospital and later Jefferson Regional Medical Center for 45 years.

    Mrs. Ray was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Daughters of the American Revolution and American Business Women's Association.

    She was preceded in death by her parents, Edith Randolph Kuykendall and Bill Kuykendall; husband, Joe Ray; and brother, R.D. Kuykendall.

    Survivors include her daughter, Louann Rountree and son-in-law, Jim, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; sister, Lou Kuykendall Moore of La Luz, New Mexico; brother, Randy Kuykendall of Yantis, Texas; two grandchildren, Dr. Spencer A. Patrick of Atlanta, Georgia and Wendy Ann Patrick-Cockrell of Pine Bluff, Arkansas; and daughter-in-law, Jean Kuykendall of Idabel, Oklahoma.

    A graveside service was held Saturday, May 14, 2005 at 1:30 PM at Ft. Towson Cemetery in Ft. Towson, Oklahoma with Brother Mutt Wallace officiating. Arrangements were handled by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors of Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
