Services for Georgia Best, of Hugo, were at 2 p.m. Jan. 18, 2003 at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo. Brother Donnie Bates officiated the ceremony. Internment followed at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Hugo.

Georgia Bates died Jan. 15, 2003 in Hugo. She was 90.

Georgia was born July 8, 1912 in Cooper, Texas. She married Homer Burton June 9, 1929 in Virgil. After Homer’s death in 1957, she married Charles Best in 1960.

She was preceded in death by Charles Best in 1963.

Georgia is survived by two daughters, Louise Cearley of Hugo and Opal Chastain of Atwater, Calif.; one son, Richard Burton of Dayton, Wyo.; seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo handled the funeral arrangements.
