Myrtice Buchanan

Services for Myrtice Buchanan, of Hugo, were at 2 p.m. Feb. 11, 2003 at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Chapel in Hugo. The Rev. Mutt Wallace officiated the ceremony. Interment followed at the Spencerville Cemetery.

Myrtice Buchanan died Feb. 8, 2003 in Hugo. She was 89.

Myrtice Buchanan was born Jan. 21, 1914 in Bryans Mills, Texas to Joe & Julie (Baskin) Eitel. She was a lifelong resident of this area. She was retired from Choctaw Memorial Hospital, where she worked as a nurses aide. She was a member of the Spencverille Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edgar Buchanan; two sisters and a brother.

She is survived by one son, Harold Gene Buchanan of San Pablo, Calif; one daughter, Jo Ann Chappell of Hugo; one sister, Etheleen Morehead of Hugo; four grandchildren, Buckley Chappell, Kobi Mills, Trey Chappell and Holly Purcell; and one great-grandchild, Morgan.

Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home in Hugo handled the funeral arrangements.
