Leonard M. Blankenship

     Funeral services for Leonard M. Blankenship of Valliant were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 7, 2004, at Valliant Church of Christ with Virgil Romine and Tracy Mussett officiating. Interment was in Valliant Cemetery.
     Mr. Blankenship died August 5, 2004, at McCurtain Manor Nursing Home in Broken Bow. He was 86. He was of the Church of Christ faith.
     Mr. Blankenship was born February 26, 1918 in Garvin, Okla., the son of Samuel Blankenship and Bessie (Williams) Blankenship and had lived in Valliant since 1962. He married Sylvia Ethel Quaid on July 12, 1939 in Achille, Okla. His parents preceded him in death.
     Surviving relatives: His wife, Sylvia Blankenship; two sons, Bobby Blankenship of Valliant, James Blankenship of Idabel; three daughters, Clarece Liles of Valliant, Sheila Myers of Yukon, Patricia Moye of Valliant; 18 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren along with other family and friends.
     The family received friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, August 6, 2004 at the funeral home.
