Thurman Buchanan

Funeral services for Thurman Buchanan of Hugo were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2005, at Spencerville Community Church with Rev. Bertram Bobb and Rev. Troy Blue officiating. Interment was in Spencerville Cemetery.

Mr. Buchanan died Friday, July 15, 2005, in Hugo. He was 76.Thurman Eugene Buchanan was born on July 14, 1929 in Spencerville to George and Mary Elizabeth (Frazier) Buchanan. He had lived in the Hugo area for the past two years after moving here from Dallas. He retired from the railroad, and had served his country in the U.S. Army. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Edgar Buchanan; three sisters, Mildred Williams, Mozell England and Ruth Dillard; one sister-in-law, Myrt Muchanan; and one uncle.

He is survived by three sisters, Marie Nelson, Lena Bishop, both of Bakersfield, Calif., and Jim Davis of Ft. Towson.
