Sam Ferrier Died At 2:30 This P.M. Funeral May Be Sunday
Sam Ferrier, 63, well-known Hugo citizen, died this afternoon at two-thirty, following an illness of many months. While no definite date or time was announced by the Campbell Funeral Home it is believed that the services will be in the First Methodist Church Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Ferrier came to Hugo from Fort Smith in 1920 and for a number of years he was employed by the Frisco. Later on, he was the operator of Everyobdy’s [sic] Service Station. He was stricken ill about three year [sic] ago and moved to Tulsa. He returned to Hugo just before Christmas.
He is survived by his wife and five children: Sam, Jr., and Rose of the home address; Foster Ferrier and Mrs. Ralph Loftin, Fort Worth; Mrs. Paul Clinkenbeard, Gladewater, and Howard Ferrier, of Pawhuska.
Mr. Ferrier had many friends here and we join with them in expressing condolence to the bereaved family and relatives.

Samuel S. Ferrier Rites to be Held At Methodist Church
Last rites for Samuel Steven Ferrier will be held at the First Methodist Church at 2:30 p.m. today with Rev. Littleton Fowler officiating and interment in the Mount Olivet Cemetery. Campbell Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
Mr. Ferrier passed away at 2:30 p.m. Friday, January 20, at his apartment at 311 East Kirk Street in Hugo, Mr. Ferrier was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ferrier, being born at Mountain Home, Arkansas, on November 4, 1886. His father preceded him in death.
Mr. Ferrier moved to Hugo for the first timein 1900. Later he moved to Ft. Smith, Arkansas, and then returned to Hugo in 1920. He was employed by the Frisco railroad as a fireman; then later as a brakeman. He retired from the railroad and purchased a service station known as Everybody’s Service Station, East Jackson St.
His health forced him into retirement, and he moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. He returned to Hugo during November, 1949.
He was a member of the First Methodist Church and was a Mason. The Masonic Lodge will conduct a ritual at the cemetery.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Della Ferrier, Hugo; three sons, Leon Ferrier, Hugo; Foster Ferrier, Ft. Worth, Texas, and Howard Ferrier, Pawhuska; two daughters, Mrs. Ralph Loftin, Ft. Worth, Texas; Mrs. Paul Clinkenbeard, Kilgore, Texas; his mother, Mrs. Francis Ferrier, Fort Smith, Ak.; one brother, O.C. Ferrier, and two sisters, Mrs. W.J. Young and Mrs. C.A. Boger, all of Fort Smith, Ark.
Pallbearers for the funeral will be: Shad Dickson, T.H. Loftin, Jr., Haskell Floyd, Arthur Hood, Sabe [?] Rice, W.H. King.
Honorary pallbearers are: A.S. Brooks, Sabe [?] Rice, Guy Simmons, T.S. Sattawhite, Dick Andrews, G.W. Rice, Ben Blanchard, Bob Woodson, R.E. Burdine, A.Q. Adams, Bob Farq[?] , A.E. McClellan and Dr. H.D. Wolfe.
The News joins with his many friends in expressing condolence to the relatives of the deceased.
