DEATH'S HARVEST WAS BOUNTEOUS
W.W. DeShong Dead
The Hugo Husonian March 14, 1912 - transcribed
by Ron Henson
W.W. DeShong, 22 years of age, died Saturday night, after a four day siege of spinal meningitis. From the first illness until death there had been no hope of the young man's recovery, unconsciousness coming on the second day, and all efforts to sustain life proving unavailing.
The deceased had been a driver for the Goldman Grocery company here in the city and was a man admired and respected by all who knew him. He was a member of the Lamar county DeShong family, and had been in this city for several years, his mother, Mrs. Taylor, lives here and with whom he made his home. A brother also resides here and is well known.
Interment was made at Paris near where the family resided for many years.
