James W. Bevill, 59, of Scurry, Texas died Monday, April 9, 2001, in Kaufman, Texas.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 12 at Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mutt Wallace officiating. Burial will be in Grant Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Surviving are his wife, Patsy; a daughter, Diana Lynne Taylor of Scurry; a brother, Henry Bevill of Hale Center, Texas; four sisters, Dora Soleta Fugett of Branley, Calif., Betty Vanderburg and Bessie Nicholes, both of Irving, Texas, and Retha Bevill of Swink, Okla., and three grandsons.
