BORN: JUNE 30, 1922 DIED: JANUARY 9, 2003

Services for Sylvia Brown, 80, Tulsa, will be held at noon Monday at Temple Israel. Burial follows at Rose Hill Cemetery in the Temple Israel section.

Mrs. Brown died Jan. 9, 2003, at a Tulsa hospital.

She was born June 30, 1922, at Fort Towson to Abe and Esther Corenbleth Pollock. She was raised in Ada.

She attended Sophie Newcombe College and Tulane University in New Orleans, LA., majoring in art.

She married Adolph "Dolph" Brown on Nov. 1, 1942. He died July 17, 2002.

Mrs. Brown worked as a bookkeeper for The Smart Shop in Ada. In 1946 she and her husband opened Brown’s Children’s Shop.

She moved to Tulsa in 1995. She was a member of Temple Israel and B'Nai Emunah Synagogue.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn "Puddin" Cox, Seattle, Wash.; a son, Dr. Mike Brown, Woodenville, Wash.; and eight grandchildren.

Fitzgerald Ivy Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
