HAMMOCK, ANDREW JASPER “ANDY”

BORN: AUGUST 23, 1919 DIED: SEPTEMBER 17, 1987

Andy Hammock, a resident of Sawyer, Oklahoma, died Thursday, September 17, 1987 in Hugo.

He was 68.

Andy was a retired heavy equipment operator, and a veteran of World War II.

He was born August 23, 1919 in Hot Springs, Arkansas, the son of John Canada and Cadder Lee Allen Hammock.

He has been a resident of this area most of his life.

Andy was preceded in death by a brother, Lige Hammock, in 1964.

Survivors include his wife, Edna, of the home; a son, Mitchell Hammock of Calimesa, California; and a step-son, David Joe Bush of El Paso, Texas.

Other survivors include four daughters, Sue Lemons of Hugo, Mary Justice of Wagoner, Nita Pence of Hugo and Joy Setzer of Hugo; a brother, Dayton Hammock of Sawyer; three sisters, Minnie Pettyjohn of Hugo, Loda Ketchum of Hugo and Thelma Saffell of Texarkana; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday, September 19, 1987, at 3 p.m. in the Lampton-Mills and Coffey Funeral Home Chapel.

Rev. Jerry Cooper will officiate.

Burial will be in the Mount Olivet Cemetery.

The Lampton-Mills and Coffey Funeral Home of Hugo is in charge of arrangements.
