HARRINGTON, BOBBY DEAN

BORN: AUGUST 13, 1947 DIED: JULY 28, 2003

Bobby Dean Harrington, 55, Nevada, MO, passed away Monday, July 28, 2003, in Nevada, following a lengthy illness. He was born August 13, 1947, in Swink, OK, to Harold Henry Harrington and Maggie Cline Harrington.

He married Donna Ruth on June 26, 1971, in Nevada and she preceded him in death on March 13, 1991.

He later married Connie Cole on May 26, 2001, in Nevada, and she survives of the home.

Bob was born in Swink, OK, and raised in Hugo, OK. He graduated with a Batchelor’s of Science degree from Henderson State in Arkadelphia, AR, in 1969. He received a Master’s Degree in Special Education from SMSU in 1980. He worked for 30 years in the mental health field at Nevada Habilitation Center, serving as supervisor the past two years. He was a member and served as a deacon of the First Baptist Church, Nevada, MO. He was also a member of the Gideons International.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Connie, of the home, include one son, Jason Harrington and his wife, Misty, Joplin, MO; one daughter, Cassandra Harrington, Independence, MO; one stepson, David Cole and his wife, Cindy, Bolivar, MO; one stepdaughter, Heather Rainey and Robert, Nevada, MO; three grandchildren, Bradley Kuhens, Independence, MO, Robert and Eric Rainey, Nevada, MO; two brothers, Buster Harrington, Valliant, OK, Harold Harrington, Jr., Swink, OK; one sister, Melody Phillips, Bismark, AR; two stepbrothers, Steve Blodgett, Bismark, AR, and David Mattingly, Donaldson, AR; one stepsister, Georgie Muttingly, Tulsa, OK, and father and stepmother, Harold and Betty Harrington, Donaldson, AR.

He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Beverly Alexander.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 1, 2003, at the First Baptist Church, Nevada, MO, with Dr. William Cox officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until 1:00 p.m. on Friday at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada, MO. and the family receives friends 7:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at Ferry Funeral Home.

Memorials may be given to the Gideons, the First Baptist Church, or the American Cancer Society in care of Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada, MO.
