Linda King, 52, of Deport died Friday, Feb. 16, 2001, at Christus St. Joseph’s Hospital.
Funeral services are at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 19, 2001, at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel, Hugo, with the Rev. Dee Robertson officiating. Burial is in Moran Cemetery in Valliant, Okla.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Linda Kay (Walkup) King was born Nov. 9, 1948, in Swink, Okla., the daughter of Carl Walkup and Cora Lee (Long) Walkup.
She grew up in the Swink area, attended Swink public school through the eighth grade and graduated from Fort Towson High School in 1967. She was a member of the Church of God and a veteran of the U.S. Army. She lived in the Paris area for approximately the past 15 years.
Surviving relatives include her husband, James King; father; a stepdaughter, Denise Melton of Seminole; three stepsons, Harlen King of Malakoff, Brian King of Edmond, Okla., and Kevin King of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Morris Walkup of Idabel and Larry Walkup of Swink; eight sisters, Geneva Tolliver of Denton, Wilma Teters of Valliant, Rita Wharton of Valliant, Evelyn Walkup of Valliant, Carolyn Fitzhugh of Pagosa Springs, Colo., Melva Rogers of Longview, Marilyn Houchin of China Grove, N.C. and Beverly Roper of Hugo; eight step-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
