Bill Major of Madras died Thursday, June 5, 2003, of natural causes. He was 69.

A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church of Madras with Rev. Richard Burson officiating.

Mr. Major was born Dec. 17, 1933, in Ft. Towson, Okla., to Delbert and Verna (Bulick) Major. He married Betty on May 3, 1968, in Mexico.

He was a farmer and enjoyed his work.

Survivors include his wife of Madras; a son, Earl of Oklahoma; three daughters, Tarry Pickard of Oklahoma, Carol Adams and Thelma Chandler, both of Baker City; two brothers; three sisters; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
