DIED: MARCH 10, 2003

Clifton G. Martin, 69, of Middleton, left his family peacefully to go home with the Lord on Monday, March 10, 2003, at a Caldwell hospital, after a long illness and a courageous fight for his life. Standing at his bedside were many family and friends. His life will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday, March 14, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Interment will be at the Middleton Cemetery, Middleton.

Clifton was born February 22, 1934, in Hugo, Okla., a son of Marvin and Theo Harris Martin.

He was raised and educated in Plainview, Texas. He married Martha J. Allen on Jan. 3, 1955, in Plainview, and to this union six children were born, three daughters and three sons.

Clifton is survived by is wife of 48 years, Martha of Middleton; three daughters, Debbie Jones, Susan and Richard Freeman and Cindy Grever, all of Caldwell; two sons, Terry and Lori Martin of Middleton and Tony Martin and Rose of Norfolk, Va.; a brother, Clifford and Janet Martin of Middleton; six sisters, Helen and Dave Garnett of Pocatello, Shirley and Bill Wilson, Evelyn Hodges, Leona and Calvin Dunham, all of Rogers, Ark., Karlon and Phillip Anderson of Texarkana, TX and Genie Lanitti of Greenville, SC; 15 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son and daughter-in-law, Timmy and Tauscha Martin; two grandsons, Cody and Wade Anthony Martin; a brother-in-law, Larry Hodges; and a son-in-law Billy Grever.
