DIED: DECEMBER 18, 1999

Betty Jo Nichols, age 74, of Milton, died Saturday evening, December 18, 1999, after an extended illness.

She was born in Fort Towson, Okla. and had resided in this area for the past 32 years. She was a retired accountant, former president of CPO Wives Club, former member of local Bridge Clubs, Garden Clubs and New Comers Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Nichols; her two sons, Edwin Wayne Hall and David Alan Nichols.

She is survived by two sons, Bill (Kathleen) Hall and Nick (Lynda) Nichols; three daughters, Penny (Calvin) Nichols York, Peggy (Mike) Nichols Fuqua and Pam (Steve) Nichols Rollo; two brothers, Bill and George Kelly; two sisters, Ann Wright and Lera Lee Barlow; 14 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nichols will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 21, 1999 from the chapel of the Donnie Sowell Funeral Home in Milton.

Interment will be in the Barrancas National Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Bill Kelly, Calvin York, Wayne Fuqua, Roger Wright, Steve Rollo and Keith Fuqua.

Honorary pallbearers will be George Kelly, Tom Butcher, Richard "Dick'' McCool and Mike Fuqua.

Donnie Sowell Funeral Home of Milton is in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
