REVELLE, THELMA (STEELE)

DIED: JULY 19, 2003

A memorial service will be held July 25 for Thelma Revelle of Yoncalla, who died July 19, 2003 of age-related causes. She was 82.
Revelle was born Jan. 27, 1921, in Sawyer, Okla., to Harry and Rosie Eskew Steele. She married J. Melvin Revelle on Oct. 18, 1940. He died in 1996.

She grew up and attended schools in Sawyer.

She moved to Oregon from Oklahoma. She lived in California before returning to Oregon in 1949.

She worked for the Yoncalla School District for many years.

She enjoyed cooking, gardening and sewing.

She was an active member of the Assembly of God Church in Yoncalla.

Survivors include a son, Don of Vancouver, Wash.; a daughter, Linda VanLoon of Yoncalla; a sister, Bernice Young of Oakland, Ore.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. A son, Ron, died in 1992.

Friday's service will be held at 1 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Yoncalla. Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove is in charge of arrangements.
