RIDGEWAY, ETHEL SUSAN (WARD)

DIED: MAY 7, 1999

Funeral services for Ether Susan Ridgeway, 98, were held Monday, May 10, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at the Pitcher-Hackney Funeral Home Chapel in Carnegie.

Ethel was born April 24, 1901 in Fort Towson to George Washington and Margaret (McIntosh) Ward and died Friday, May 7, 1999 at the Southwestern Hospital in Weatherford.

She lived in Eakly and the Alfalfa communities until 1971 when she moved to Carnegie. She was a member of the Oak Dale Club and the Church of Christ. She had worked at the Cobb Creek Store and cooked at the Alfalfa Schools. She married Dewey Carl Ridgeway on August 5, 1923 in Cordell and he preceded her in death in 1971.

She is survived by one daughter-in-law, Wanda and husband Robert Smith of Weatherford; two grandsons, Dean Ridgeway and wife, Rhonda of Weatherford, Jimmy Ridgeway and wife Debbie of Carnegie; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Jewel Washburn of Ada and Merle Hensley of Carnegie; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Thurman Doyle Ridgeway; an infant daughter; two brothers and two sisters.

Burial was in the Alfalfa Cemetery under the direction of the
Pitcher-Hackney Funeral Home in Carnegie.
