DIED: AUGUST 9, 2003

Funeral service for Bire Sales will be 1 p.m., Wed., Aug. 13, at Trinity Baptist Church, Inola, with Pastor Edward Webber officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, Inola, under the direction of the Inola Funeral Home. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tues. 1-7 p.m.

Bire was born to Daniel and Matilda (Musick) Sales on August 7, 1907, in Detroit, TX. He passed away Aug. 9, 2003, at the Inola Health Care Center just 2 days after his 96th birthday. Bire spent most of his adult life living in Southern California while working as a carpenter. In 1997, due to failing health, he came to live with his son and daughter-in-law, Edd and Betty, in Inola.

Bire is survived by his 5 children: sons, Edd Sales and wife, Betty of Inola, Rufus Sales and wife, Claudia, and John Sales all of Fort Towson, OK, daughters, Jean Ross of Oklahoma City, and Ruby Fennell and husband, Raymon of Fort Towson, OK; 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 sisters, 6 brothers, wives: Lydia, Lorene, Adalee, and Pearl, and 2 great-grandsons.
