THOMAS, CORRINE (SIMPSON)

DIED: JUNE 18, 2001

Corrine Thomas, 87, of Paris died Monday, June 18, 2001, at Christus St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with the Rev. Billie Ullrich officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Thomas was born April 19, 1914, in Oklahoma to Ernest Earl and Cora Foster Simpson.

She married James Herbert Thomas March 23, 1935. He died Feb. 4, 1980. She had worked for Dr. Courtney Townsend and was a home caregiver.

Survivors include her son, James Thomas and wife Dee of Paris; one brother, Bobby Jack Simpson of Lubbock; one sister, Connie Jean Stark of Paris; one grandson, Bryan Thomas and wife Heather of Sumner; three great-grandchildren, Kimber-Lyn Thomas of Sumner, Michael Pilkington of Waco and Chris “C..J.” Pilkington, of Paris.

She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kim Pilkington, Dec. 13, 1992, her twin sister, Florinne Thomas, and by three brothers, Donald Ray Simpson, Ernest Earl Simpson Jr. and Wayne Simpson.
