Ray Bohanon

Ray J. Bohanon, a resident of Sacramento, Calif., died April 18 in a hospital in that city.
He was 69.
Bohanon was born April 25, 1920 in Grant. He was raised in Hugo and graduated from Hugo High School Bohanon served with the U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean Conflict and was a former pilot for the Flying Tigers.
He was a member of the Enlisted Pilots Association and retired as sales manager for the Hertz Corporation.
Bohanon was preceded in death by his parents, H.J. and Hettie Bohanon, and by a brother, Reid Bohanon.
Survivors include two daughters, Ellen B. Ehrehard of Newnan, Ga. And Sheri Nel Rogers of Waukomis, Okla.; a brother, Robert B. Bohanon of Cuyoahoga Falls, Ohio; a sister, Ruth Ann Boydstun of Alturas, Calif.; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were held today at 2:30 p.m. in the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Hugo. Rev. Emmett Boydstun officiated.
The Dalton-Holmes Funeral Home of Durant was in charge of arrangements.
