Irmadine Florence Buchanan Morehead Casey

    Services for Irmadine Florence Buchanan Morehead Casey, of Sherman, Texas, were at 2 p.m. Nov. 15, 2002at the Prater-Lampton-Mills & Coffey Chapel in Hugo. The Rev. Lance Price and the Rev. Bill Whitehead of the Fairview Baptist Church of Sherman, Texas officiated the ceremony. Internment followed at the Spencerville Cemetery in Spencerville.
    Pallbearers were Larry Morehead, Preston Morehead, Ross Morehead, Brett Buchanan, Jake Buchanan and Wayne Goheen.
    Irmadine Florence Buchanan Morehead Casey, 75, passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002 with her husband of 33 years, Clarence Casey in her presence.
    Irmadine was born Nov. 3, 1927 in Spencerville to Allie Priest and James Walter Buchanan.
    In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Larry Morehead and his wife Diane of Sherman, Texas; two grandsons, Preston and Ross Morehead of Whitesboro, Texas and a granddaughter, Kristin Nevils of Sherman, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Opal Goheen of Austin, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her brothers, Coy and Glenn Buchanan and nephews James and Darrel Buchanan and nieces Janice Whitlow and Sharon Buchanan Wisner.
    As a child, Irmadine attended a two-room schoolhouse in Spencerville. During World War II, as a teenager, she accompanied her parents and sister to Richmond, Calif. and while there worked in the Kaiser Shipyard. She cared for her niece Carolyn Thomas, which evolved into a special lifelong relationship. When she returned from California, she married Preston Morehead and spent many years in Stillwater, where her son was born and raised. While there, she worked at Anthony’s Department Store and Katz Department Store. Later she married Clarence Casey and they lived in Stillwater until moving to Sherman, Texas seven years ago. Irmadine was blessed with an outgoing and fun-loving personality, which won her many friends. She was a good person. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was a lifelong Christian and a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Sherman Texas.
