J.S. Bridges
Fort Towson Enterprise – August 18, 1916 – transcribed by Ron Henson

J.S. Bridges Dies Suddenly
J.S. Bridges, an old resident of the town, was found dead late Tuesday afternoon at his home where he had been batching for some time. Heart failure was the cause.
A son and family from Ladona, Texas, came in an auto to attend the funeral and Dan came up from Bismark, Okla. A daughter, Mrs. Ball, of San Angelo, Texas, and youngest son, Doss, of Glasswood, Mont., not come in time on account of the long distances and extreme hot weather.
The body when found was taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. John Shields, who resides here, and prepared for burial, which occurred Wednesday afternoon. To the bereaved we extend our heartfelt sympathy.
