Lee Carter Dead At Fort Towson Home
Lee Carter, one of the oldest residents of Fort Towson, died at the family home there at an early hour Friday night, after a day's illness. Mr. Carter was stricken with acute indigestion early Friday and gradually grew worse until the end came.
About 30 years ago, Mr. Carter came to Doaksville, near Fort Towson, since which time he has resided in the Fort Towson community, where he has been one of the leading citizens of that community. He was connected with one of the first banks ever opened in this part of the state and has been in business in Fort Towson for several years prior to his retirement a few years ago. The funeral was held at Fort Towson Sunday morning after which the burial was made in the Doaksville cemetery.
