FUNERAL SERVICE HELD FOR WRIGHT
Died At Hospital From Wounds Inflicted by His Son

Funeral services for S.M. Wright, of the Highhill community who died in the Hugo hospital at 4 p.m. Thursday, were held this afternoon at the Spencerville cemetery.
Reverend Kizer was in charge of the funeral services.
According to information to the Daily News late Thursday night, the deceased died from the results of wounds alleged to have been inflicted by his son, in an altercation about two weeks ago.
According to the informant, Mr. Wright was struck on the left side of the head with a hatchet. Infection set in and early this week it was necessary for him to have several teeth extracted.
Thursday morning he was brought to the Hugo hospital and died later in the day.
Funeral arrangements were under the direction of the Snow Funeral home.
No criminal action has been filed against the son, according to word from the sheriff's office late Friday night.
Oray N. Wright Died In Paris Saturday

Oray N. Wright, aged 29, died in the Paris sanitarium at about 11 o'clock Saturday morning, following a short illness.
The deceased was taken to the Paris hospital early Saturday morning, in a Snow ambulance, where treatment was administered in an effort to save his life.
He died a short time after arriving in Paris, however.
No funeral arrangements were announced at about 5 o'clock Saturday afternoon. The body arrived back here at about 6 Saturday.
Mr. Wright is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Henry Wright, three brothers, Harry, and Dick of Hugo and Sid of Little Rock, and one sister who name could not be learned.
Crover [sic] P. Stokes Died Suddenly Sat.

Grover P. Stokes, aged about 50, years died
suddenly Saturday morning of an heart attack, at the home of his sister, Mrs.
E.M. Mainer.
Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist church
this afternoon with Reverend Earnest Quick officiating. Interment will be made
at the Mount Olivet cemetery.
Mrs. Mainer, is the only surviving relative, it was
announced.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Senner
Funeral home.
Funeral Is Held For Howard Johnson today

Funeral services for Howard Johnson, 14 months old son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Johnson of Tulsa, were held this afternoon at the Shoate Springs cemetery at Woodstown.
The young lad died at Tulsa Tuesday at the family home in Tulsa where his father works with the Tulsa refining company.
Mrs. Johnson was a former resident of this county. She will be remembered as the daughter of Ed Corn of Grant.
Senner funeral home had charge of funeral arrangements.
Mother of Mrs. Moore Buried this Afternoon

Mrs. Ellen Taylor, aged 84, mother of Mrs. Eldred Moore, who lives west of the city was buried in the Mount Olivet cemetery this afternoon with Reverend Paul B. Howell pastor of the Methodist Protestant church officiating.
The Senner Funeral home had charge of the funeral arrangements.
Funeral services were held at the family residence. Mrs. Taylor had lived in the city for the past 18 years.
Surviving her are Mrs. Eldred Moore, Mrs. Ethel Nelson, both of Hugo; Mrs. Lizzie Miller of Kentucky, eight grand children and four great grand children.
Mrs. N.J. Cooley Died In City Early Today

Mrs. N.J. Cooley, aged 29, wife of N.J. Cooley of this city, died here at about 12:30 this morning.
Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Goodland cemetery at 2:30 o'clock, with Reverends Gray and Hart officiating.
Snow funeral home had charge of the funeral arrangements.
D.F. Wade Died At Boswell Late Tuesday

D.F. Wade, aged 78, one of the pioneer Indian citizens of the county died at his home three miles east of Boswell at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Burial will take place at the Wade cemetery Thursday afternoon with Rev. E.D. Miller, of Goodland, officiating at the last rites.
Mr. Wade is survived by three grand children and one nephew, the names of whom could not be ascertained this afternoon.
From the meager details to The Daily News this afternoon little could be learned concerning the life of the pioneer Indian resident of the county. However it was stated that he had been married three times but his wives preceded him in death.
The report indicated that Mr. Wade's parents were among the Choctaw Indians who came to Oklahoma along the Trail of Tears more than a hundred years ago.
Snow Funeral home will have charge of funeral arrangements.
Funeral Held for George German Today

George German, aged about 60, retired Holinest Evangelist, who died suddenly here yesterday was buried in the Springs Chappel cemetery this afternoon following funeral services which were held at the Nazarene church.
Pall bearers were Vester Bennett, R.L. Weddington, Grover Bradshaw, E.M. Clark, A.H. Byrns, Frank Payne.
Funeral services were under the direction of the Snow Funeral home.
Mr. German died suddenly at home of his nephew, Henry German, on North Second street shortly after noon Monday.
H.E. HINES WAS BURIED TODAY
Civil War Veteran Died Here Sunday Afternoon

H.E. Hines, 87, civil war veteran, and pioneer Hugo resident, died at his home at about noon Sunday.
Mr. Hines had been ill for about two weeks, the announcement indicated.
The civil war veteran was born at Boston, Texas, in April of 1846. He later moved to Oklahoma where he has lived most of the time.
He is survived by his sister, of Boston, Texas, and whose name could not be learned, and by a niece and nephew.
Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist church at 2:30 this afternoon, with Reverend Earnest Quick and Reverend Ward officiating.
Interment took place in the Springs Chappel cemetery.
Pall bearers were Gordon Wilkins, R.J. Howse, J.S. Person, Grover Bradshaw, Pete Know and G.N. Dickson.
Snow funeral home had charge of funeral arrangements.
W.T. Miller Funeral Held This Afternoon

Funeral services for W.T. Miller, aged 61 years were held this afternoon at the Snow Funeral home chappel, with Reverend Ernest Hicks in charge.
Mr. Miller died at the home of his brother-in-law, W.S. Payne early this morning after a short illness.
Interment took place in the Mount Olivet Cemetery.

World War Veteran To Be Buried In Messer Cemetary [sic]

Funeral services for J.D. Grubbs, had not been completed this afternoon, according to word from the Snow funeral home which will be in charge of the rites.
Mr. Grubbs died in the Sulphur veterans hospital following an illness of about ten days.
The 45 year old World War veteran was taken to the hospital when he became ill about ten days ago, and from the time he entered it became steadily worse.
Mr. Grubbs is survived by his widow and three children. They are, Mrs. Helen Rogers, of Phoenix, Arizona; Hershal and Edward Grubbs of this city. Two brothers and one sister, all of whom will attend the services.
The body of Mr. Grubbs was brought to the city last night in a Snow Funeral home ambulance.
Volley Taylor Died At Home Tuesday A.M.

Volley Taylor, aged 54 of South H street died at his residence Tuesday, according to word from the Snow Funeral home which had charge of funeral arrangements.
Funeral services were held at the residence this afternoon with Reverend J.B. Ward officiating. Interment took place in the Grant cemetery.
Lloyd Pierce Buried At Ft. Towson Today

Lloyd Pierce of Fort Towson, died in the University hospital at Oklahoma City Monday, was buried at Fort Towson this morning.
Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Mainer, of Paris, with interment in the Fort Towson cemetery, said word from the Snow Funeral home which had charge of funeral arrangements.
Aged Woman Dies At Home Of Daughter

Funeral arrangements were announced late this afternoon for Mrs. Lottie Rivers, aged 84, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. I.H. Cody, four miles east of the city.
Funeral services will be held at Detroit, Texas, tomorrow afternoon with Reverend Malcomb McFarland in charge, according to word from the Senner Funeral Home which is in charge of funeral arrangements.
