Curtis Elvin Inge

Curtis Elvin Inge, 51, of Norman, Oklahoma, died Tuesday, January 17, 2006, at Norman Regional Hospital. Funeral Services were held at 10 a.m., Friday, January 20, 2006, at First Baptist Church of Norman with Reverend Brent Davis officiating. Interment was at 4:00 p.m., at the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Hugo, Oklahoma. Pallbearers were Joe Neely, Rusty Sullivan, Kerry Tramel, Buckley Chappell, Kevin Newville, Joe Majma and Jack Thompson. Honorary bearers were Blake Virgin, Gary Lundy, Shawn Blackburn, Mike Evans, Hood Baldwin and Dick Lierman. Services were under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman, Oklahoma.
Curtis was born August 29, 1954, in Hugo, Oklahoma, to Virgil Elvin and Dessie (Barnes) Inge. He graduated from Hugo High School and then from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. He lived in Norman for ten years, moving from Atoka, Oklahoma in 1996. Curtis married Paula Gayle Lorenzino on July 4, 1998 in Jamaica.
He served in many capacities during his twenty-three year career with Oklahoma public schools, including as a teacher, coach and high school principal. He worked with Atoka, Olney and Noble Public Schools. Curtis was serving as superintendent for Noble Public Schools for the past seven years. He enjoyed a number of hobbies including traveling, hunting, fishing and riding his motorcycle. He was also an avid O.U. Sooners fan. Curtis was a member of a number of organizations including the Oklahoma Education Technology Trust, the State Superintendents Advisory Committee, and the Executive Committee of the Oklahoma Secondary Schools Athletic Association (OSSAA). He was a past president of the Cooperative Council of School Administrators (CCOSA), the Oklahoma Association of State School Principals (OASSP) and the Oklahoma State Parent Teachers Association.
Curtis was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Paula Gayle Inge, of the home; son, Rudi Heath Inge, and wife, Melissa Michelle, of Yukon, OK; daughter, Kaci Lynae Inge, and husband, David Stuart Crane, of Dallas, TX; step-son, Joe David Burrage, Jr. and wife, Natalie Dawn, of Atoka, OK, step-daughter, Sara Jayne Burrage, of Norman; two sisters, Glenda Lou Lee and husband, Gene, of Wanette, OK, and Linda Sue Burton and husband, Billy, of Hugo, OK; granddaughter, Alexa Grace Inge, of Yukon; two grandsons, Nolan Drake Burrage and Jesse Layne Burrage, of Atoka, OK; and granddaughter, Skylar Christine Burrage, of Atoka, OK.
