Mrs. Ralph Eastland Died Wednesday A. M.
Funeral Service Thursday Morning From Residence
Funeral services for Mrs. Ralph Eastland will be held at the family home, 401 East Duke street, Thursday morning at 10:00 o’clock with Rev. W. E. White, pastor of the First Baptist church, officiating and the Campbell Funeral home in charge of arrangements. Death came to Mrs. Eastland at 4:40 o’clock Wednesday morning, following a brief illness.
Bearers will be: Hunter Wilson, W. H. King, Bill Patterson, H. W. Young, A. J. Blair, Jr., and Joe A. Wolff.Honorary bearers will be C. S. Lambeth, W. E. Schooler, Don McDowell, Harry Goldfedder, Herbert Miller, Selbe Rice, Bob Jones, Wren Moore, W. C. Henry, Vernon Pratt, G. M. Barrett and Lloyd Simpson.
Mrs. Carrie Williamson Eastland was born at Gonzales, Texas, in March, 1877. In 1908 she was married to Ralph Eastland, well known and pioneer merchant. They resided in Honey Grove, Texas until 1916, when they moved to Hugo where they have since made their home.
During their long residence in Hugo they have endeared themselves to the people and both of them are reckoned among our most highly honored and respected citizens.
Mrs. Eastland has been an active and devout member of the First Baptist church and has been active in civic and charitable work since coming to Hugo.In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Milton Eastland and a grandson, Freddie Eastland, of Commerce, Texas. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. Regina Jenks, of Hugo.
