Atwell James “A.J.” Scott

Funeral services for Atwell James “A.J.” Scott were held at 10:00 a.m. May 12, 2006 at Miller & Miller Funeral Home Chapel in Valliant with Bro. Harry Austin officiating, assisted by Bro. Brent Coffey. Interment was in Moran Cemetery.
Mr. Scott died May 9, 2006 in Texarkana, Texas. He was 75. He was a Deacon at the Assembly of God Church in Millerton.
A.J. was born October 26, 1930 in New Orleans, La. the son of William David Scott and Frances Scott and lived in the Millerton community since 1977. He married Patsy Richard July 27, 1991 in Valliant. A.J. enjoyed working with his hands; he was a carpenter by trade like his Master. He loved watching purple martins, feeding his squirrels, and raising horses. He loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and was always willing to lend a hand to anyone who was in need. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Joe Scott.
SURVIVING RELATIVES: his wife; Patsy Scott of Millerton, 3 sons; Jesse DeWayne Scott of Ringold, Tommy and Johnny Fennell both of Millerton, 3 daughters; Glenda Lynn of Millerton, Patricia Scott of Hope, Ark. and Jeannie Moye of Valliant, 1 brother; W.D. Scott, Jr. of Valliant 4 sisters; Flora Bell Donaldson of Idabel, Bettye Shockley of Garvin, Mary Ellen Pettygrew of Texarkana, Texas and Loriane Turner of Texarkana, Ark.; numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren 2 special friends; Brent and Deb Coffey along with a host of other family and friends.
The family received friends Thursday May 11, 2006 in the funeral home.
