Adolphus Calvin, Sr.

Adolphus Calvin, Sr., was born to Ethel and Hoyte Calvin on November 19, 1944. He grew up, attended and graduated from school in the Grant community. He was an active member of the West Kiamichi Church of Christ until he was called home. He was employed at Kentucky Fried Chicken for eleven years, then later CampbellÕs Soup for twelve years.


Preceding him in death are father, Hoyte Frank Calvin, mother Ethel Calvin and brother Glen Calvin.


He leaves to cherish his memories, wife Elizabeth, son Adolphus Calvin, Jr., daughter Mamie Calvin, and stepson Jamar Lampkin of the home; stepdaughter Jamelah Murray of Durant;
Brothers: James Frank Calvin and family of Wichita Falls, Texas, Lloyd Calvin and family, David Calvin, all of Phoenix, Ariz., Hubert Calvin and family of Indiana;
Sisters: Pearlie Stringfellow and family of Chicago, Ill., Rebecca Smith and family of Oklahoma City, and Elnora Calvin and family of Paris, Texas.


Funeral services for Mr. Calvin will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at West Kiamichi Church of Christ with Rev. R.L. Clark of Tudor Street Church of Christ, Paris, officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.


The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral Home.
