Wynona Suzanne Nelson Thomas

Wynona Suzanne Nelson Thomas of Granbury, Texas passed away Sunday, September 23, 2007 in a Fort Worth, Texas hospital. Suzanne was born February 11, 1935 in McAlister, Oklahoma to Clarence Lee and Effie Ethel Nelson.
Suzanne was a Christian, having accepted Christ as her Savior as a child.
Her family remembers her as a very resourceful wife and mother; and the most wonderful cook ever! She loved reading her Bible, needle work and ceramics. But her greatest passion was her family genealogy research and researching her Cherokee Indian ancestry.
Suzanne married Albert Stanley Thomas of Crowder Springs, Oklahoma on January 9, 1950.
During their 57 plus years together, they lived in the Crowder Springs community, and the Houston, Texas area. However, most of their married lives they lived and raised their five children in Hood County Texas; specifically, (since 1955) in Cresson, and the Acton/Fall Creek area.She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Gordon L. Nelson, Billy A. Nelson, Joe E. Nelson, Charles H. Nelson; and sisters Hazel Nelson Davis, Anita F. Nelson Webster.
Mrs. Thomas is survived by her loving husband, Albert S. Thomas; daughter Carolyn Thomas Sorensen and husband Donny Sorensen of Dobbin, Texas; daughter Sandra Thomas Hudson and husband Robert Hudson of Granbury, Texas; daughter Janice Marie Thomas Misner; daughter, Wynona Diane Thomas Swaim and husband Gary Swaim of Granbury, Texas; and only son, Stanley Eugene Thomas and wife Terri of Boswell, Oklahoma.
She is also survived by her 15 Grandchildren: Ann Marie Grissom Dragoo, Geneveive Lynn Grissom Wilson, Robert Nathan Grissom; Brandi Lin Hudson Ridley, Brandon (Bo) Odell Hudson; James Albert Wann, Christopher Matthew Misner, Shahara Marie Misner Fowler, Lance Jacob Misner; Misty Michelle Thomas Matcham, Heather Renee Thomas Hutsell, Christy Beth Thomas, Victoria Lynn Thomas; Eric Thomas Swaim and Carey Don Swaim.
And finally, Suzanne is survived by her 27 Great-Grandchildren: Joshua Caleb Wilson, Haley BreAnn Wilson and Sadie Juliette Dragoo; Jonathan Tyler Wilson, Ryan Bobby Wilson, and Wade Thomas Wilson; Nevin Bryon Ridley, Connor Odell Ridley; Kendall Breann Wann, Ryan Chase Wann, Caitlin Emmalee Wann; Micah Moses Misner, Malayna Nicole Misner, Wyatt Albert Swank Misner; William Trace Fowler; Dylan Wayne Jones, Colton Garrett Misner; Morgan Taylor Hutsell, Trevor Matthew Hutsell; Twins ~ Grady Thomas & Allison Michelle Matcham; Bobby Gomez Swaim, Kimberley Jolly Swaim, Patience Swaim; Ashlyn Haley Rae Swaim, Hannah Mae Swaim, Unborn baby Swaim.
And she is also survived by her sister, Norma Faye Nelson Ashley of Sawyer, Oklahoma.
Visitation and funeral arrangements were by Wiley Funeral Home, Granbury, Texas and Miller & Miller Funeral Home of Boswell, Oklahoma.
Her nephew Dr. Dennis A. Wright led in her Celebration of Life at the First Baptist Church in Boswell, Oklahoma. Mrs. Thomas was laid to rest near her beloved father-in-law and mother-in-law, Labin G. and Frances Mae Thomas in the Crowder Springs Cemetery.
