| Comanche County is located in southwest Oklahoma. The county seat is Lawton. The county was created in 1901 from the Comanche, Kiowa and Caddo lands of Indian Territory. There are 1,083 square miles of mountains and plains in Comanche County. Today, Comanche County boasts a population of 117,600 people. This was the last home of displaced Indians before they were forced to adopt the customs of the new settlers. |
