Charles

Charles "ED" Pettit and his daughter Edyth Victoria Pettit abt. age 16 yrs.. in Custer Co., Oklahoma

Charles was often called ED... and family story is: Blacksmith shop was next to the Railroad Tracks...
and one day the train was blowin its whistle...Charles looked out and saw a Little girl abt. 3 - 5 years .,
playing on the track...So he rushed out of his shop and grabbed the girl... Saving Her Life...
My Grandmother Edyth ALWAYS told us this story...and I believe it WAS TRUE.!!!..
Charles was also a Crafted Carpenter...in the family today is a Dresser Drawers that he made
for my grandmother Edyth...and he built their 2 story house out in Anthon, and the Old Barn
and Windmill.... I have a fair picture of the Old Barn...it was near the "North Pond" on the homestead...
