Children of Isaac and Florence, Mary Melinda, Lodie Jane, Ivan Clifton, Jewel, Norma, Alice Gertrude, William Clyde. Jewel, Norma, Ivan, William, and Alice were all born in Valiant or the hills nearby. Is Isaac Ellis listed in the old Valiant Cemetery. John And Fred Mills are listed on the 1900 Census for McCurtain, Oklahoma. John was my great grandfather and Fred was my grandfather.They apparently moved to Haskell County, Oklahoma later on. I remember visiting relatives in McCurtain when I was a child, but have no idea what their names were, just know that they were related to my dad. She was my paternal grandmother. Carl was said to have a fatal disease and left the family to spare them the pain. HILL, Wylie (1902) Eagletown, McCurtain County, OK
Looking for information (just like the rest of you) on Wylie HILL. Born April 10, 1879, died Aug. 8, 1930. Married Ida FORD in Red River County Court House February 22, 1902. Moved to Eagletown shortly thereafter and had seven children:
Nellie Irene 1902, Rufus, John, Bessie, Ruth, Ted, Weymour.
Looking for parents...can't find them. Ida FORD is buried in Eagletown or Broken Bow. Nellie married John REPPOND on the 2nd of December 1920. As the story goes he was killed by a drunk wagon driver a few years later. Nellie then married Leard HAGANS on April 20, 1930.

I am looking for information on ANY HANCOCK's in McCurtain Co. I know that James Monroe HANCOCK died in Smithville around 1945. He was born in Amity, AR in 1858. Supposedly, He was also buried in White Cemetery in Amity. He was married twice, once (my line)to Louella Armeta OSBOURNE. One of his sons Newt lived in McCurtain Co. (in or around Smithville or Broken Bow) as late as the early 1970's. Any help would be appreciated.

I am researching Nancy Turnbull BOHANAN, d/o George TURNBULL and unknown Indian woman/Choctaw/Chickasaw. Married Jesse BOHANAN. She was his second wife. They had many children-25 between two wives. Oldest child was thought to be Anthony. He is listed as full blood on Dawes Rolls. Both Jesse and Nancy are supposed to have died in Eagle County/Red River. I would like to find where they are buried as well as George's wife who I think also may have died there about 1845. Her name was supposed to have been Sarah. George TURNBULL was my great, great, great, grandfather.

I am very interested in anyone with ANY information about the SKEEN family who were living in the Choctaw Nation from ca 1895 until the early 1900's. Moses SKEEN was married to Alice HAINES/HAYNES SKEEN. They had children, Oscar, "Dollie", Rosie, Andrew, Moses, John Henry, and Isom. Later years some of the children were involved in railroading. Also, the elder Moses SKEEN had brothers who worked in the lumber industry in the area. I very much would appreciate your help!

Simon Peter was a lay Primitive Bapt. preacher who died in 1925 after stepping out of his car (he was not driving) to retreive his wind-blown hat. He lost his step and his head hit a rock. He was on his way to a church meeting in Mena, AR. Simon was married to Ozella Cooper (m. in Franklin Co., AR). Part of the family migrated to Wayne, OK after the 1920's.

They settled in McCurtain County, where Clarence Earl MCDONALD was born May 4, 1904 in Haworth, OK. Sophie died when Clarence was only 4-5 yrs. old. Sophie was reportedly at least part Cherokee.

WADDLE, Moses (1910) Idabel, McCurtain Co., Ok
Looking for information on WADDLE, HAGEN, HILL, and EVANS families. Moses and Arabella (COX) WADDLE: Moses was born in Georgia in 1838 and Arabella was born in Alabama in 1849. They were married in Calhoun Co., Alabama, 29-Mar-1866. They were living in Webster Co., Louisiana in 1900, where they are shown on the census with their daughters: Leola B (24), Florence D. (19), Emily E. (16) sons: William P. (20), Oscar N. (12) and grandchildren: Ethel HAGEN (9), Chester C. HAGEN (6), Jimmy B. HAGEN (3), and Henry C. HAGEN (1). My information shows one daughter marrying a HILL and another daughter marrying and EVANS. Unclear whether marriages occurred in Louisiana or Oklahoma. Living in Idabel according to 1910 census with grandsons, Bryan (age 14)and Clinton (age 11) HAGEN living with them. A son, Charlie WADDLE, was also living in Idabel with his wife Pearl and twin infant daughters, Byrl and Myrl. I believe a daughter, Eula (WADDLE) HILL was also in the area with her family: husband, John son, Maxwell and assorted in-laws. Moses and Arabella WADDLE are also listed on the 1920 census in Broken Bow (soundex listing is N. D. WADDLE - haven't seen actual census). In 1920, two granddaughters, Byrl WADDLE (age 9) and Thelma WADDLE (age 6) are living with them. Willing to exchange information with anyone connected to these families.
