McIntosh County Census Records | ||||||||||
A portion of the Canadian District of the Cherokee Nation became the eastern part of McIntosh County. A transcription of the original census was done by Sharron Standifer Ashton 1978 and is available from the Oklahoma Genealogical Society. I've extracted the surnames from this publication and will do lookups.
In 1900 the area that is now McIntosh County was
still part of the Creek and Cherokee Indian Nations of Indian
Territory. The census of these areas is on microfilm T623 rolls
1843-1846 (Cherokee) and 1853-1854 (Creek)
The 1910 Census of McIntosh County Oklahoma is on
microfilm T624 roll 1260. Note: The City of Hanna and Hanna Township
were a part of Hughes County until 1914.
The 1920 Census of McIntosh County Oklahoma is on
microfilm T625 roll 1471.
Personal property tax lists were published in the local newspaper. Although only the name of the taxed individual or company is listed, the list is useful in locating individuals after the 1920 census.
The 1930 Census of McIntosh County Oklahoma is on
microfilm T626 roll 1914.
