Other Communities

Listed below are communities that are known to have existed but little is know of their beginning or ending.  Numbers in blue are GPS coordinates.
 

Washita - Post office Aug 11, 1887 - Oct 31, 1900, 34° 3249N, 097° 0752W, Joy 

Wheeler, S13, T1N, R1E  - same area as Washita, 34° 3341N, 097° 0824W, Joy 

Carr Flat - S36, T1N, R1E, 1 mi. NE of Joy.

Gattis - extreme NW Murray County.

Fletcher - S9, T1S, R3E, cemetery, 34° 2919N, 096° 5326W, Sulphur South 

Rocky Point - N/W of Sulphur.

Howard - S/E of Woodland School in Arbuckle foothills.

Denny - north of Hickory,  34° 3412N, 096° 5047W,  Roff South 

Crusher - a.k.a. Big Canyon/Arbuckle, 34° 2102N, 097° 0145W, Gene Autry 

Robnet - Sec 21, T1-S, R1-E; platted Oct 30, 1911.  Which would put it on the old Butterly Ranch.

Lincoln, OK - Town platted Oct 8, 1910.  Area was adjoining Platt National Park east of Buffalo & Antelope Springs, to the east and south of the park boundary.

Grandview - S 36, T1N, R3E.  On the hills just NE of the School for the Deaf at Sulphur.

Goose Nest - A community west of Davis that was platted and registered April 10, 1911 by surveyor G. W. King.  It had a school and was located: S17, T1S, R1E.  The town was evidently named after the Goose Nest Mine that was nearby.  There were many lead and zinc mines in the Arbuckle Mountains.

Cedar Blue - A recreational vehicle park with year round camping.  Has a population of several hundred during camping season.  Built in the old Gilsonite community. S28, T1S, R3E, built 1980.

Five Lakes - A new recreational living community built around the asphalt pits in the old Gilsonite community.  Population is several hundred.  Built in 1982.

White Mound - East of Crusher, 34° 2220N, 097° 0027W, Gene Autry 

Number Two - Community between Arbuckle Dam and Dougherty.
