 LB was a lifetime member of Sheetmetal Work's Local 270. He was a wonderful husband, a very giving and caring father. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life. Although LB is now gone, he will always be a part of this family's life. LB is preceded in death by his parents, Roger and Nellie Smith and one sister, Nathelee Brown.
Survived By: loving and caring wife of 54 years: Mary Alice, of the home; son: Larry Bruce and Vona Smith, Catoosa, Oklahoma; two grandchildren: Ryan and Amanda, Catoosa, Oklahoma; five sisters: Bety Ingalls of Wasco, California, Geneva and Jim Caruthers of Catoosa, Oklahoma, Elwanda and Bob Hefley of Vilonia, Arkansas, Sue Lemasters of Beggs, Oklahoma, and Darlene and Steve Gabbard of Tulsa, Oklahoma; three brothers: Delbert and Jean Smith of Spiro, Oklahoma, Dale and Johnnie Smith of Quinton, Oklahoma, and Johnny and Jetta Smith of Beggs, Oklahoma; seven nephews and nineteen nieces; and eight great-grandchildren

HOOVER -- Verna M., Green. Service will be 2 p.m., Monday, February 5, 2007, at the Chapel of the Garden at Rice Funeral Service. Pastor Peter Enns will share words of comfort. Verna will be laid to rest at Washington Cemetery in Foyil. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 12 noon to 6 p.m., Sunday, February 4, with the family receiving visitors from 3 - 5 p.m. Verna was born near Foyil on December 8, 1932. She went to be with her Lord and Saviour Wednesday, January 31, 2007. She was 74. She is survived by: her husband, Samuel R. Hoover of the family home; son, John Green of Tulsa, OK; daughter, Susan Kallenbach of Rolla, KS; and stepdaughter, Pamila Martin of Claremore. Verna is also survived by: her sister, Wanda, and husband, George Downs of Claremore; grandchildren, Immanuel, Jordan, John and Hannah Green, Kaleb and Lee Striplin, and Tami, Janie and Mindy Ericksen; as well as numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. Verna was preceded in death by: her parents, Robert and Lillian Comiford; brother, Leroy, and sisters, Bobbie Savage and Lorene Reed. Verna received her Masters Degree in Education at Northeastern State University and taught for many years at Children's Medical Center in Tulsa and in the Foyil school system, as well as many surrounding areas. Verna was also good at working with children who were challenged and developed the first speech therapy program in Rogers County. Friends and family will always have fond memories of Verna's musical talents. She played the guitar and was an excellent vocalist. She often entertained friends and relatives along with her sisters, Bobbie and Wanda; they formed a talented trio. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Rice Funeral Home, 341-0376. EAST - Bessie Cossetta Yocham, 87, passed from this life on Friday, September 28, 2007. She was born in Beggs, OK on February 5, 1920. She was preceded in death by: her husband of 58 years, Raymond; daughter, Joyce; grandson, Daniel; parents, Roscoe Charles Yocham and Nancy Jane Eslick Yocham; brothers, Winfred, Velmo and Bill Yocham; sisters, Jewel Layton, Oneta Cummins Mullin and Edith Thompson. Bessie was a loving wife, a wonderful mother and a proud grandmother and great- grandmother. A faithful Christian lady, who, despite poor health, was always ready to provide a helping hand. She loved to garden, grow flowers, crochet and sew. She leaves behind a fine Christian example for her loved ones who will miss her greatly. Survived by: daughter, Lawana Sue Duwe and her husband, Bill; sisters, Jean Graham and Arline Guthary; grandson, Ray Duwe and his children, Travis, Nicole and Raychel; granddaughter, Regina McCoy and her husband, Kelly and their daughters, Sarah, Hannah and Becky; grandson, Rusty Ferguson and his wife, Stacy and their sons, Tanner, Reese and Logan; grand- daughter, Deana Hamilton and her husband, Wade, and their sons, James Ferguson and Bryan Hamilton and his wife, Samantha and their daughter, Alexis. Service 2 p.m., Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at the Carbondale Church of Christ. Burial will be at Highland Cemetery in Inola. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hope Harbor Children's Home. KITCHELL - Joe Al, passed away Monday, October 15, 2007. He was born in Chelsea, graduated from Nowata High School and attended the University of Tulsa. Served in the US Army during WWII. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Past Commander of the American Legion Post One. He was preceded in death by his son, Joe Al Kitchell III. Survived by his wife, Lillian; son, Stephen R. Kitchell and wife, Rebecca; grandson, Christian R. Kitchell; cousins, Ron Waldroup and Peggy Schnoor. Service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, October 18, 2007 at Rose Chapel-Boston Avenue United Methodist Church. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Moore's Southlawn Chapel 663-2233
