No Survivors In Plane Crash

As many as five people are dead after a small plane crashed in Glenpool Wednesday afternoon. The plane went down in a growing neighborhood and barely missed hitting several houses. News On 6 anchor Omar Villafranca reports witnesses saw the plane rocking back and forth in the high winds.

The 1978 Beechcraft A36 went down shortly after takeoff from a Tulsa airport. It happened at about 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Coal Creek Landing housing addition near U.S. Highway 75 and 121st Street in Glenpool.

Officials at the crash scene say it appears the plane clipped power lines before crashing. The crash site has been secured so the National Transportation Safety Board can investigate the exact cause.

Authorities were not releasing the names of the victims, but Tulsa attorney Bill Lunn confirmed his ex-wife, Dr. Rhonda Lunn, 51; 16-year-old daughter, Kathryn Lunn, and 14-year-old twins, Michael and Adrienne died in the crash, along with the pilot, Reverend Bill Wiseman Jr., 63.

Lunn says Wiseman was taking his family to visit her parents in the Houston area. An eyewitness to the crash says the plane sounded like it was having engine trouble.

"I heard the plane sputtering and spatting, and I looked out the window cause I was setting right there with my computer, and I looked up from my computer and looked out the window and I saw him hit the lines,” said eyewitness Linda Bridger. “Sparks went everywhere and it brought him to the ground. He hit the ground and it just blew up."

That explosion shook Brian Sconyer's house, only 200 yards away. He ran to the crash site to try and help and was pushed back by the flames.

"A ball of flames, a ball of flames, you could see one person in the plane, no movement, no anything like that. There's no way to get to them," eyewitness Brian Sconyers said.

"There was no way. If the fireman had been right there, there's no way they could have gotten anyone out," said Bridger.

Bill Lunn says his ex-wife, Dr. Rhonda Lunn, practiced obstetrics and gynecology out of Saint Francis Hospital. The children were students at Tulsa’s Cascia Hall.

Reverend Bill Wiseman was a vicar of the Church of the Holy Cross in Owasso and director of university relations at the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. In the 70s, he was a state representative and served three terms in the House. In 1977, he introduced the nation's first death-by-lethal-injection legislation.

	Glenpool assistant City Manager Stan Ewing says the plane crash site is in a subdivision but there were no injuries on the ground.
	Investigators have not released the names of the victims, but friends and family tell The News On 6 the victims were Reverend Bill Wiseman, Dr. Rhonda Lunn, and her three children.
	The aircraft went down Wednesday at about 2 p.m. after it hit some power lines east of Morris Park near U.S. Highway 75 and 121st Street in Glenpool.

Friends React To Deadly Plane Crash

The National Transportation Safety Board’s probe into Wednesday’s plane crash near Glenpool will likely take six months to complete. A minister, a doctor and the doctor’s three children died in the crash. News On 6 anchor Omar Villafranca reports Rev. Bill Wiseman, Jr., Dr. Rhonda Lunn and her three children were aboard the plane.

Rev. Wiseman was a former state representative who helped make the lethal injection the state's form of the death penalty. Dr. Rhonda Lunn was a respected OB-GYN in Tulsa. Today, their families and friends are in shock.

One plane crash took the lives of five people close to Father Stephen McKee.

“He (Wiseman) grew up reading the Bible, studying it. He comes here and he's a maverick certainly, but he had a way of teaching. His class kept getting bigger and bigger and bigger. He just sat on a stool for 45 minutes and just wow everybody. Rhonda and her three kids were very involved. They were here every Sunday, except when they were out of town, and sang in the choir,” said Father Stephen McKee of Trinity Episcopal Church.

Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmonson roomed with Rev. Bill Wiseman when they were both freshman state representatives. He remembers Wiseman as a hard worker.

"We were both young Turks in the legislature trying to change the world. I actually think Bill did more good in the legislature than I did. He was a great intellect and a great human being," said Attorney General Drew Edmondson.

The news of Dr. Lunn's death spread quickly. Messages of sympathy from patients and friends flooded the web.

Faith made Father McKee and Bill Wiseman friends. He says that same faith will have to carry all their friends through this tough time.

“That's what the faith means, it doesn't give us back what we want, because we want them back, but it does give us hope that we'll be able to greet them and be with them sometime else,” said Father Stephen McKee of Trinity Episcopal Church.

Funeral services are still being planned. Dr. Lunn's three children, Kathryn, Michael and Adrienne were all students at Cascia Hall. The school will have a special prayer before their football game tonight. The school is on fall break, but counselors will be there for students when classes resume on Monday.

Funerals Monday For Victims Of Plane Crash

Thousands paid their final respects and remembered the five victims of last week’s plane crash in Glenpool. Reverend Bill Wiseman, Junior, Doctor Rhonda Lunn, and her three teenage children died when their small plane crashed shortly after takeoff from Riverside airport. Friends and family say each victim had so much more living to do.

Hundreds of loved one's gathered at St. John's to remember Reverend Bill Wiseman, Junior. Friends of Wiseman say he touched many lives as a state representative and as a preacher.

"He was not yet preaching the gospel, except in the way St. Francis talked about. St. Francis said you should preach the gospel every day, and if necessary, use words,” said Oklahoma Attorney General Drew Edmondson.

In downtown Tulsa, more than 1,500 friends packed Trinity Episcopal to honor the Lunn family. Rhonda Lunn was a cook, a singer, a respected doctor, but friends say she was most proud of being a mother.

"Say a prayer for Michael, Adrienne, Kathryn, and Rhonda. We will all miss them so much,” said the children’s father, Bill Lunn.

Dozens of Cascia Hall students, still in uniform, said goodbye to three of their classmates: Adrienne, Michael, and Kathryn.

"They went directly to God, to his bosom, and that is where they are now and they are together where they would want to be,” said family friend, Dr. Melanie Blackstock.

A family friend read a letter written by Michael to his mother. The words will hopefully help family members during difficult times.

“We’ve both been through easy and hard times, let us especially get through these hard times,” added Dr. Melanie Blackstock.

A memorial service for the Lunn children is scheduled for Tuesday morning at 8 a.m. at Cascia Hall's chapel.

	Dr. Rhonda Badeen LUNN -, 51, was born March 5, 1956 in Sapulpa, OK the daughter of Dr. Samuel J. and Lillian (Samara) Badeen. She was previously married to William D. Lunn for 23 years. She died Wednesday, October 17, 2007 in a tragic plane crash in Glenpool, OK along with her three children Kathryn, Michael and Adrienne. Her family, friends and patients have suffered an irreplaceable loss. Rhonda graduated valedictorian from the Sapulpa High School class of 1974. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma after 2 years then graduated from the OU College of Medicine in 1980. She completed her residency in OB/GYN in 1984. At that time she opened her practice at St. Francis Hospital in Tulsa. Dr. Lunn was a fellow of the American Board of OB/GYN, was a past president of the Tulsa OB/GYN society, past chair of the St. Francis Hospital Quality Assurance Committee, member of the Tulsa County, the Oklahoma State Medical Association and the AMA. Dr. Lunn was given the prestigious honor of being named to "The Best Doctors in America" for over ten years. In the current issue of Oklahoma Today magazine Rhonda was named a best doctor in Oklahoma. However, Rhonda considered the greatest accomplishment her three children. She was also an accomplished musician and a renowned gourmet cook who enjoyed opening her home to many friends and civic groups. Published in the Tulsa World from 10/21/2007 - 10/22/2007.
	LUNN - Kathryn Lillian, 16, was born June 15, 1991 in Tulsa. Kathryn was a junior at Cascia Hall Preparatory School where she was a straight-A honor student. She was one of 11 in the U.S. to make a perfect score on the National French Exam. She excelled at the piano. In sports, Kathryn was a leader on the volleyball and softball teams. She was already a world traveler having visited many parts of the U.S. and Europe. Recently she was a sweetheart for the American Heart Association. 	LUNN - Michael Dixon, and Adrienne Badeen Lunn were born May 5, 1993 in Tulsa, OK. Michael and Adrienne were freshman at Cascia Hall Preparatory School where they excelled in their studies as straight-A students. They each recently starred in the musical production of "Annie" as Daddy Warbucks and Annie. They have been in every musical performed while they were at Cascia Hall. Michael was "Trouble" in the Tulsa Opera performance of "Madame Butterfly" in 1998 and recently performed in the Light Opera Oklahoma production of "The Music Man". Adrienne was the magical rabbit in the Tulsa Opera production of "Cunning Little Vixen" in 2002. Like their sister, they excelled at the piano. Michael played baseball and tennis for his school while Adrienne played volleyball and softball. Published in the Tulsa World from 10/21/2007 - 10/22/2007.
	LUNN - Adrienne Badeen, Rhonda and her children were active members of Trinity Episcopal Church where they sang in the choir for many years. Rhonda, Kathryn, Michael and Adrienne are survived by her parents and their grandparents: Dr. Sam and Lillian f Sugar Land, TX; the children's father: William D. Lunn, Jr. of Tulsa; their paternal grandmother: Mrs. Pat Lunn of Muskogee, OK; her brother and their uncle Rodney Badeen of Tulsa who was a very important part of their lives and their uncle Joe Lunn of Michigan; her grandmother and their great grandmother: Mrs. Adeeba Samara of Oklahoma City; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Trisagion prayers will be offered by their uncle Very Rev. John Badeen, Very Rev. Constantine Nasr and Very Rev. George Eber at 6 p.m., Sunday, October 21, 2007 followed by visitation at the Ninde Brookside Chapel, 3841 S. Peoria in Tulsa. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Monday, October 22 at the Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Stephen McKee officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A memorial service for the children will be held at the Cascia Hall Chapel at 8 a.m., Tuesday, October 23. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to the Cascia Hall Performing Arts Center, 2520 S. Yorktown Ave., Tulsa, OK 74114; Trinity Episcopal Church 501 S.
