|
Wagoner County lies in two different Indian nations. The city of Wagoner lies in Cherokee Nation while the remainder of the county lies in Creek Nation. Both tribes originated in the Eastern United States and were both forcefully removed to, what was then known as, Indian Territory in the mid-nineteenth century. |
